Bio
David has been part of the Charleston music scene for a number of years now. He first came in the picture in the early 90’s as lead singer, songwriter for the ‘then popular’ rock/metal band Wretched Excess. Later, he changed gears and put together Live Bait with singer/percussionist Bruce Patrick. LB had a pretty decent following throughout the next few years. Around 2000, the opportunity came for David to go to Atlanta and record a full-length project at Tree Sound Studios, and work with a host of well-known Atlanta talent such as Russ T. Cobb, David Ryan Harris, JJ and Butch Walker from the Marvelous 3, and producer Greg Archilla. After putting together a band to tour in support of the CD, the whole thing came to an abrupt halt due to a lack of funding (so to speak).
One of the original three founding members of Plane Jane, David is no stranger to the cover music scene either. He was a member of PJ for 7 years, and also partnered up with pal, Donnie Polk to form the Diesel Brothers. Initially a covers duo, the DB’s actually produced a 10-song CD of original music that received airplay on a few local radio stations. These days you can catch David playing solo, or with the Diesel Brothers around town or in Key West at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville.
